Two Magic: the Gathering game stores will be the location for this Saturday’s Standard Constructed tournament. For Friday, we will be having only one tournament which will be FNM at Rei’s Place. The last Saturday Showdown will be pushed through the next day whereas Critical Hit Comics and Games will also be having its own Standard event. I would expect players to be divided between the two depending on their convenience.
I expected an increase in attendance for the Saturday tournaments with the Wizard’s special Magic: the Gathering Saturday Showdown event and I was not disappointed. The first wave gathered around 16 participants, which was just one player short for a five-round of Swiss. Continue reading
The new Magic: the Gathering Kaladesh Standard has in a way got me excited to play the format. A whole lot of deck designs have entered especially archetypes that adopted the mechanics from the latest set. Last night’s Friday Night Magic gave me the chance to play a deck that is one of the previous strategies in the Innistrad set. The deck was Blue White Spirits and here below is the decklist:
