M10 Artwork

Hi guys. Its been a really long while since my last update. I just couldn’t get my mindset back on writing again. Maybe its because of the many tasks at work I’ve been getting lately. Oh well, I’d apologize for that. I’ll try to get it back and share to you the happenings here on the previous weeks and possibly a recap of my Regionals this year.

For the meantime, enjoy these cool artwork for the upcoming M10 this July. Guess what, Lightning Bolt is back baby!

Magic: the Gathering Tournament Report: Alara Reborn (Pre)Release

Hey guys. Just to keep back on track with updates, I decided to share with you my experience on our local Alara Reborn Prerelease last Saturday. You might be asking why it’s a prerelease since the scheduled date was April 25. It’s because the product shipment was held by the Bureau of Customs. I didn’t know the real reason (and was too pissed to find out) why they did that but that really forced the local retailers to change the schedule a week later. Of course, a lot of players were disappointed with that delay but government crap can’t stop Magic players who enjoyed last weekend. I’m sure most of you too as this was also the schedule for the Release events.

Tournament Report: The Summer Cruise

Hi guys, I hope you had a fun weekend. I am writing this short report of my performance on last weekend’s back-to-back tournament. The first was on Saturday and the second was last Monday, both in Standard format. I joined the tournament piloting R/W Lark which I was trying to master/get familiar with since February.

The other builds are basically metagame-based so I used that as a reference to come up with my list. Here’s the decklist I’ve piloted:

Deck of the Week: Grixis Control

It has been awhile since we had our deck for the week so I decided to bring it back, this time during Fridays. Hopefully, I can sneak a post for it in my sked. For this week, I’ll feature the deck that got 1st place in the Cruise Qualifier in Indianapolis, Indiana last March 29. It is a control deck based on the color of the Grixis shard (Blue-Black-Red) with the almost forgotten Demigod of Revenge as the bad a$$ beater and win condition. Here’s the decklist piloted by Matt Owens. Continue reading

I’ll just go into every detail hehe… Anyways, I’ve been browsing for Magic: The Gathering news & updates this past few days, and here are some of them. Continue reading

What Magic (The Gathering) Has Taught Me

Playing Magic for almost half of my life has been very memorable and fun of course. The game has brought me strategies, creative thinking, innovations, and new friends, colleagues, and even long-time buddies. With that, I decided to reminisce about some important lessons I have learned in my nine years as a Magic player/enthusiast. Here it goes:
