Our local Magic Iloilo also held an Arena tournament last night though I was not able to check on the results from our TO Rei.

The rival decided to visit our guild channel with the plan of overthrowing our Agit Castle and denying us of one. We initially planned to just have a perfect defense first before changing channels to engage them but they initiated first.

Here we thought that old Magic: the Gathering set mechanics in Standard aside from Eldraine’s Adventures is already out of the picture on the metagame. Today’s Standard deck feature proved that wrong. The archetype is mentioned in the blog article’s title. Yes, that is Simic Mutate, a more straightforward deck build than the previously known Jeskai Mutate deck.

Last night was a huge announcement stream from Wizards of the Coast about their plans for 2022 wherein they revealed the Magic: the Gathering sets for each quarter of next year. The four new sets announced were Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty for the 1st quarter, New Capenna for the 2nd quarter, Dominaria United for the 3rd quarter, and finally The Brothers War for the 4th quarter.
