If you have been a long-time Standard player in Magic: the Gathering TCG, you will notice right away that Mono-Red is one of the right-away choices in the deck archetype every time a new set arrives in the format. This was the same with the release of Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. The mechanic of Modified creatures and Vehicles offered Red a new arsenal to use in their deck builds.

The Top 5 Most Played Creatures in Standard December Year-end Update
It has been a while since I posted some Top 5 cards or was that Top 10 last time? So today, I am having this Top 5 most-played creatures in the Standard Crimson Vow format based on the data of the tournament results and decklists posted at the MTG Top8 website. The current Magic: the Gathering Standard deck archetypes give us the impression that the decks built around Alrund’s Epiphany are still the best choice among the list. The only variance is on how these decks deal with other mirror-type matchups. Some go with Grixis as Black’s discard spells can surely disrupt their gameplan whereas others come up with the Plan B of just burning off opponents’ life totals with copied burn spells.

The current Magic: the Gathering Standard deck setup for the midrange decks in the format goes with having early utility creatures which can later, ramp the deck into its big spells. For control matchups, it can outrace them in mana by casting their best Planeswalkers early on. Not to mention that they can also deal cheap damage if left unchecked. For their aggro matchups, they just simply outmaneuver them with better cards and spot removals.
