It has always been a temptation in having to open Magic: the Gathering booster packs on live sell. That is because there are certain sets that have these lottery cards that are highly priced in value on the trading card market. The best examples are those Expedition lands found in Battle for Zendikar and Oath of the Gatewatch booster packs in which some of us were lucky to pull some back in the day.

Mono-Green Devotion Deck Feature in Pioneer Format
As the Pioneer is becoming a popular format in our local game store and among the significant Magic: the Gathering tournaments announced recently, it may seem natural to me to check on its metagame on what the top-tier decks’ build would look like. I’d expect some similar decks to that in Standard like UW Control, Mono-Red Aggro, and the like.

Hey all, Happy Monday. I do hope you guys started your week right whether at work or at home. Anyways, today is another Magic: the Gathering topic. The pack war has been a thing on the FB live selling sessions by various LGS in Manila. The mechanic is very simple. Choose one booster pack for entry and after a definite number of participants have been reached, each pack will be opened one by one and will check on what will be the highest card in the value of that pack. That is, comparing its value in the current price market.

I have observed that sideboard suggestions are not likely recommended as part of the Magic: the Gathering Standard deck tech videos I have seen on Youtube. Some of these vloggers may lightly discuss it, others do a thorough card-by-card analysis, and the rest are just there showing the list, and that is it. Their suggestions may appear to be archetype specific, but the general sideboard strategy is missed in the discussion.

The chances, I always aim for the chances. That is maybe the main reason why I still stick to opening booster packs such as set boosters from old release sets as I am on the main objective on that: the chance to open the good cards, Wandering Emperor, Meathook Massacre, etc. Going with the calculations, the chances of Mythics in a booster box is already low enough, much more on the specific card such as those mentioned.
