The second Magic: the Gathering Iloilo Arena local tournament was concluded last Saturday with a lot of recognized Ilonggo players gaining the top slots. Basically, these are regulars in the local events scene but also gained top finishes in tournaments in Manila, and other areas of the country. They are continuously doing great in the current Standard format.

Our local game store tournament organizer Rei has informed me to post this announcement on our Magic: the Gathering Iloilo City Community Facebook page on the Saturday Standard tournament with a little punch in the prizes. This is to entice the players again with the added foil promo packs in their winnings.

For the recent Standard metagame update, Temur Energy dominated the recent Grand Prix which was held in Denver, Colorado. The trophy and title of Champion was claimed by Pro player Brad Nelson and he also faced a mirror matchup with Brian Braun-Duin. Continue reading
